Even though Mr. Budd pretty much keeps to himself, Chester Cricket and his friends love him anyway. After all, he's lived in a quiet corner of the Old Meadow for as long as anyone can remember. Now that the meadow has been made into a historical landmark, though the Town Council of Hedley, Connecticut, has decided that Mr. Budd and his dog, Dubber, should move. Alarmed, Dubber turns to Chester Cricket for help.
