Everything That Rises Must Converge by Flannery O'Connor

FIRST EDITION / SEVENTH PRINTING [1967] FARRAR, STRAUS & GIROUX

An extremely readable, albeit flawed copy of this rare First Edition of the classic collection.

Hardcover with dust jacket.   Dust jacket is fully in tact;  but has discoloration and heavy wear to corners and edges;  a few nicks and one small sealed tear.   Price in tact on front panel

Book itself looks great.  Cloth cover looks pristine and binding is tight as new.  Tiny spot stains to text block.   Interior pages read good as new, however about 40 pages or so at the rear the book have what appears to be a faint grease stain to bottom of page margins, gradually increasing in size from a tiny spot to a larger blotch [see last 2 photos] --  However, stain does not reach the text and affected pages still read very nicely.

This collection is an exquisite legacy from a genius of the American short story, in which she scrutinizes territory familiar to her readers: race, faith, and morality. The stories encompass the comic and the tragic, the beautiful and the grotesque; each carries her highly individual stamp and could have been written by no one else.

The stories include: Everything That Rises Must Converge, The Comforts of Home, A View of the Woods, Parker's Back, The Enduring Chill, Greenleaf, The Lame Shall Enter First, Revelation, and Judgment Day.
