Nice reading copy. A few pages have discoloration to bottom right margin.

The day the world had long dreaded finally arrived. No one knew who pressed the first button. It didn't matter . . . with every major city destroyed, the atomic fallout slowly spread over the earth like a black death mask. In a shelter near Washington, a lone male and a group of women realize that they may have to spend two years together, locked in a steel room, not knowing if they are the last living animals on the earth. In New Zealand, a frantic lottery is being conducted to determine who is to live, and who is to die. Shelters are being built and stocked with supplies inside deep tunnels in the mountains before the death-laden winds drift their way.
