The determined young man in Mercer Mayer's new fantasy decides to take action. Barricaded and helmeted, with cannon and infantry at the ready, he faces his nemesis. Nightmare turns out to be timid, cowardly, over-sensitive and a crybaby. In other words, hopeless. Never daunted, our hero copes with his new problem and wins the night and a somewhat unusual roommate. Mercer Mayer, whose 'A Boy, a Dog, and a Frog' (1967) has done so much for human-amphibian relations, has created an even more unusual friendship in 'There's a Nightmare in My Closet'.
