ABOUT THE BOOK

On the surface they seemed like the perfect American family.  Leonard Fagot was a prominent New Orleans attorney, a decorated war hero, a dedicated family man, and the loving father of four beautiful daughters. But beneath the carefully drawn all-American facade lurked a man obsessed with power and discipline who controlled his family with threats, money, and emotional blackmail.

Leonard Fagot had always been a domineering father and husband and was known to have an affair now and then. But as his daughters grew up, his dark side became more and more visible. He took a local teenager as his new girlfriend and began constantly criticizing his daughters' choices of life-styles and husbands, each of whose lives he heavily insured. The death of his first son-in-law was ruled an accident, but nagging questions remained. It was only the brutal murder of a second son-in-law that confirmed the Fagot family's worst suspicions and drove one of them-his favorite daughter-to testify against him.

Written by two of Leonard Fagot's own daughters, Deadly Relations is the chilling true story of madness, fraud, drug abuse, and murder in a suburban family. It is the story of a man who would do anything to stay in control-and the family who loved him until the burden of truth became too great to bear:
