Momo by Michael Ende [U.S. FIRST EDITION] 1985 ❧ Advance Review Copy
Momo by Michael Ende [new english translation by J. Maxwell Brownjohn]
ADVANCE U.S. FIRST EDITION [1985] DOUBLEDAY & COMPANY
Published once previously in the english language under the title "The Grey Gentlemen" in Great Britain. Publishers advance review copy, w/ stamps on title pg. and text block, no price on jacket and slightly off center title page.
Dust jacket shows some heavy shelf / rub wear as well as some creasing to edges, but is otherwise bright and in tact; now housed in a HQ protective mylar jacket.
Book itself is excellent; publishers stamp on title page and top of text block [see last photo] -- beautiful monochromatic illustrations throughout.
Momo is very intelligent and is not easily fooled by the two men who come to town telling people to save time and deposit it in the bank. With the help of her friend, Professor Hora, and a turtle, she is determined to find out what they are doing with time.
Previously published in English by Burke as "The Grey Gentlemen."
