The Great Shark Hunt by Hunter S. Thompson [FIRST EDITION / 1979]
The Great Shark Hunt by Hunter S. Thompson [THE GONZO PAPERS: VOLUME I]
FIRST EDITION / THIRD PRINTING [1979] ROLLING STONE PRESS / SUMMIT BOOKS
Hardcover with dust jacket in very good condition.
Dust jacket is very good but shows some wear / tanning. Some mild tearing to edges and a price clipped front panel.
Book itself is very good with a few flaws; gift inscription on flyleaf page. Cover has some scuffs / surface wear to boards.
Pages for the most part read like new, however 7 pages mid book [389-396] have varying degrees of staining, with a corresponding slim stain to text block and a few waves caused from light water damage. [see last photo for the absolute worst of it, other affected pages are milder] The remainding 99% of pages look good as new.
REBEL WITH A CAUSE...
From Nixon to napalm, Carter to cocaine, Hunter S. Thompson captures the crazy, hypocritical, degenerate, and worthwhile aspects of American society with razor-sharp insight and greater clarity than anyone writing today.
Always fresh, irreverent, original, brilliant, and on-the-edge, Thompson hurls himself headfirst into each assignment and situation and comes back with a story only he could write. He aims for the naked truth and hits the nation's jugular vein. There is no one quite like Thompson; he is unique, and we are all richer for it.
