The Moment and Other Essays by Virginia Woolf
U.S. FIRST EDITION / FIRST PRINTING [1948] HARCOURT BRACE & COMPANY
Hardcover with dust jacket in very good condition.
Dust jacket looks fantastic, thought not without some tanning [most notably to spine] and a few frayed / nicked edges; but ultimately bright, thick and strong. Edges clipped off front panel but price is in tact.
Book itself is excellent; cover is clean and sharp. Pages read almost good as new new w/ only trace signs of age.
A selection of twenty-nine essays. "[Woolf's] essays...are lighter and easier than her fiction, and they exude information and pleasure.... Everything she writes about novelists, like everything she writes about women, is fascinating.... Her well-stocked, academic, masculine mind is the ideal flint for the steel of her uncanny intuitions to strike on" (Cyril Connolly, New Yorker).
